Terms of service

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the website www.halalcash.com, the Halal Cash app and the products we offer. They form a legal agreement between you and Halal Cash Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 00000000) with its registered office at 1 Principle Street, London EC2A 0AA, United Kingdom.

By opening an account or using any of our services you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms together with our Privacy policy and Cookie policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use our services.

To open a Halal Cash account you must:

• Be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
• Be resident, or have your business registered, in one of the markets we currently serve.
• Successfully pass our identity-verification and anti-money-laundering checks.
• Use the account for your own benefit and not on behalf of an undisclosed third party.

We may decline an application at our discretion where we are unable to complete the required checks or where providing the service would conflict with our regulatory or Sharia-governance obligations.

Halal Cash provides interest-free current accounts, cards, payments and savings products. Payment services are provided by a licensed partner; customer funds are safeguarded in segregated accounts and are not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme.

We may add, change or withdraw features from time to time. Where a change materially affects you, we will give you reasonable advance notice by e-mail or in the app.

All our products are designed to be free of interest (riba) and are certified by our independent Sharia Supervisory Board. We do not pay or charge interest, and we do not invest customer funds in activities that are inconsistent with our published ethical screening criteria.

If any amount of impermissible income is inadvertently generated, it is donated to charity under the supervision of the Board, as described in our Sharia-governance framework.

Our fees are fixed, transparent and published in the pricing section of our website. We charge for services rendered — never for lending money at interest. We will notify you of any change to our fees at least 30 days before it takes effect.

When using our services you agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information and tell us promptly when it changes.
• Keep your login credentials, devices and cards secure and never share them with anyone.
• Use the services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
• Cooperate with any checks we are required to perform under applicable regulation.

You must not use your account:

• For any fraudulent, deceptive or unlawful activity, including money laundering or the financing of terrorism.
• For businesses or transactions that fail our ethical screening, such as gambling, adult content, weapons or interest-based lending.
• To harvest data, interfere with our systems or attempt to gain unauthorised access to them.

We may suspend or restrict your account while we investigate suspected breaches of this section, and close it where a breach is confirmed.

We provide our services with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, by your breach of these Terms, or for indirect losses such as loss of profit or opportunity. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

You may close your account at any time in the app, free of charge, once any pending transactions have settled. We may close your account by giving you at least 60 days’ notice, or immediately where we are required to do so by law or where you have materially breached these Terms. On closure we will return any remaining balance to you, subject to our legal obligations.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer, you retain the protection of the mandatory rules of the country in which you live.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will publish the new version on this page and give you at least 30 days’ notice of material changes. If you do not accept the new Terms, you may close your account before they take effect; continuing to use the services after that date means you accept them.
